Thinking about getting this hand-guard, and now I just need a recommendation for a foward grip to attach to the new guard? (which I cant seem to find on midway)

Reccomendations?

I like the MagPul products. They fit very well and are functional. The MIAD grip has interchangeable panels for the grip. Unfortunately you pay for the ones that you don't use too, but it isn't too pricey compared to others.

I've tried many AR15 handgrips, including the Ergo standard, Ergo deluxe tactical, Magpul MOE, ATI grip, Hogue, and several others, and I personally find the standard and relatively inexpensive Hogue grip to be the most comfortable and all-around best for my uses. FWIW, I have XL-XXL sized hands, but the Hogue seems to work even with small hands.

If I were setting up a gun primarily for target or bench use, the Ergo deluxe tactical is a nice grip, but I find that it gets uncomfortable if you're holding the gun for more than a few minutes at a time. YMMV

I actually like the Magpul MOE least of all grips that I've tried. It's no better than an A2 grip in my opinion.

As you are asking about a quad rail too are you asking for suggestions on a forward grip to attach to it or just the standard grip on the lower?
I am not really into quad rails myself as they just seem like something that requires you to cover it up with multiple sections of slip fit rubber to keep from snagging on everything. Not to mention a really tempting place to hang a bunch of crap off of.

Yes, jmorris I was referring to a foward grip for the new quad rail. Thanks

I haven't found anything I like better than the A2 pistol grip and as far as rails I agree with jmorris.

I'd say really think through any upgrades before pulling out your wallet. Often what you already have is better than what you want.

Tango Down makes some nice ones. Especially if you're going to mount a light on the handguard. The Tango Down have a piece you take out then slide the button activator for the light into the handgrip.

After spending a lot of time using one, I'm completely sold on the vertical foregrip. I like Magpul stuff and so far I think their RVG is a winner. I like that it is not overly long, that it matches the texture of my very comfortable MIAD, is lightweight and affordable but not cheap feeling. It doesn't have any storage, if that matters.

The standard A2 grip puts waaay too much of my finger over the trigger.

great guys thanks for all the help and thanks for the link doubletap I dont know why I couldn't find them?! What is the technical term for the grip?

Usually they are called a vertical foregrip (abbreviated VFG in forums) but it looks like midway calls them vertical forend.
Those two would probably fit your AR but promag and tapco don't seem to have the greatest reputations for quality. If that's the price range you are looking at you may want to consider MagPul's MOE handguards

And their MVG vertical grip made for them:

They typically make high quality stuff and the price is hard to beat.

The forward grips might cause you to actually twist the hand guard slightly, thereby putting stress on and twisting the barrel. The net effect is a loss of accuracy. If you get a forward grip, my advice is to also consider getting a free-float hand guard system.

The vertical grips also make shooting from the bench problematic (like the 30-round mags do).

I almost never use 30-round mags, and I have also removed my vertical forward grip for the reasons stated. I've also found that 20-round mags are a better choice for tactical carbine matches.

I myself like the ambi ergo grip the most...I don't use a forearm grip but I am partil to the looks of the tango down or larues variant. I would look for a drop in rail system from one of the better manufacturers like larue, Knight, or daniels defense
