Armalite and Olympic Arms currently make complete rifles. Prices are comparable to their 5.56mm rifles.

Colt once made a rifle in that caliber but I think it's long discontinued.

Model 1 Sales and a few others sell upper receiver assemblies. The M1 upper will be inexpensive and basic, of course.

Look into the magazine options before you get too enthusiastic. CProducts has a 30rd AR mag for that caliber, but apparently the first batch just plain didn't work. I think CProducts is working on a replacement batch. Hopefully soon, but who knows. Otherwise you're mostly looking at 10rd mags, or some AK/AR frankenmags.

I toyed with the idea of such an AR, but I'm inclined to think it's not a great combination, especially considering how dirty the cheap ammo you would presumably plan to use tends to be.

The AR47 design might be of interest, but I'm not sure if they're actually in production:

Mine is from DPMS. I had a minor issue w/ the mag needing a little filing to fit the mag well properly but other than that it has been fine.

Bushmaster and Blackwater Armory both make them. I'm sure the Blackwater will be expensive being as it is a built for the buyer semi custom type deal.
