My buddy just got a Delton. I can say that the quality is much better than I would have originally thought. No problems/malfunctions and is accurate enough with the irons on the removable carry handle. He got their 16" midlength with a few extra goodies. After seeing the quality, I have no reservations about recommending them to anyone else.

As I keep saying, I like my Del-Ton kit. -And, when when I contacted them about the back-ordered magazines, they tossed in the extra buffer tube that I was looking for.

Nice folks, even when they were overloaded with orders!

whats the difference between the 1x9 mid length and the 1x7 mid length?

will the different twist affect certain types of projectiles?

+1 Delton.

A faster twist will stabilize heavier bullets better. Ie a 1:7 barrel will handle heavier bullets better than a 1:9.

BTW, 1:7 means 1 full rotation of the bullet for every inch of barrel travel.

take a look at J&T distributing as well. good rep. it's the kit arm of doublestar. M&Aparts claims to have all lmt parts.

Hmmm, I thought that meant 1 full rotation for every 7 inches. No?

+1.

1 in 9 = 1 rotation in 9 inches; 1 in 7 = 1 rotation in seven inches.

If a bullet was making 1 complete rotations in 1 inch, the riflings would look like screw threads.

Del-ton has good kits. I have two rifles I built with them. They have chrome lined barrels and they run great. Mark

+1 for Del-Ton. I built one of their 16 inch mid lengths, and I am very happy with it. --Stork

I'm still curious as to how a Del-ton's specs would stack up against the "chart". I had a middie, and I know that it would definitely be towards the far right of the list just by looking at the bolt, but I was always curious what they made their barrels out of (I'm assuming 4140) among a couple other things.

M&Aparts claims to have all lmt parts.

source? Link? That is an interesting claim.
