I have a 204 AR15 Varminter and I used a Warne Maxima low ring that I had laying around with my scope, which is Simmons 6.5-20x 50mm objective scope.

As you can imagine, the rings are too low and I need something taller.

How high of rings would you recommend?? I'm trying to shoot in 200-400 yard range, and I have adjustable cheek rest, so should I go with relatively high rings? Perhaps something like these? Warne extra high maxima tactical.

Most rings or mounts (LaRue, GG&G) intended specifically for flat top receivers put the center of the rings at around 1.4" to 1.5" above the top of the rail. The Warne ultra high rings that you show (1" version) have the center of the rings at 1.435" above the rail so they're ideally suited for most shooters. I have three pairs of Warne QD rings (using two sets) and like them a lot. They're very good value for money and they work as advertised.

good info, thank you sir. I really do like the Warne rings. They are not uber expensive yet they are as sturdy as I need for them to be.

Well if the cost is a factor then the lepers riser at midway is about 14.00 and has large finger heads for quick removal and then your able to use your current rings shipping 3.00 sent for some just to have and I like them better than the b-square for the same price and has better side retainers

I have that same set up and untill I looked through the scope I would have sworn that the front sight would block the scope, but it works just like it's not there.

Yeah, the front sight is too close to be in focus looking through the scope. You'll look right through it in a manner of speaking.
