If I mount a leupold rifleman 4-12x scope on a flat top with the regular triangle type front sight; will the front sight get in the way?

Not at all, the magnification of the scope will make the scope see around/past the front sight tower once you get past 3 or 4x.

Assuming "get in the way" means distorting your view through the scope, my experience has been: "it won't"
You'll be able to see it "ghost" under some conditions, but,IMO has never been an aiming problem.
All of my experience with scopes & front sight posts have been with scopes mounted at about 2 1/2" above bore c/l.
