I prefer the Israeli made Meprolight front sight. Skip the rear one. Too bright and too close to your eye to be useful, in my opinion.
There was one rear sight made years ago by Cherokee that mounted on the front edge of the carry handle. That one was far enough away from your eye to afford a somewhat better sight picture, but I haven't heard about them in quite a while.
This is all the tritium night sight I need. If I'm going to be shooting something with a rifle at night, I want to identify it first. Silhouetting the sights with white light makes the tritium unnecessary.
A tritium front sight will let you correctly orient the rifle at inside the house kinda distances. Plus, it is a good backup in case your Aimpoint fails when you need it most.
I have both the Meprolight style and the Trijicon one. It comes down to if you prefer the A1 or A2 style front sights. BSW
