I'm very interested in either the AR-24 or the MR Baby Eagle. I just read where Armalite states that 124 gr bullets are best suited to the AR-24. If you own an AR-24, or have first hand experience with them, do you find this to be true? I've got oodles of 115 gr S&B, FMJ on hand. Will they give me a problem in this gun? Thanks.

I don't think I've ever shot anything BUT 115gr through mine and it's never had a malfunction. Mostly Winchester and Federal FMJ's at the range. Granted it's only a few hundred rounds so far, but...

Thanks. That's good to know. I really like this gun and will probably do the deal on Monday.

I've never shot anything but 124 gn... I think anything you run throught the AR-24 will do well. It's a very solid gun. I've never had an issue with mine.

My AR-24 prefers 124 over 115 by far. Loading anything larger than 124 without being concerned about pressure (due to low COAL) is difficult.

Hangovur, is that problem unique to the Aramalite or would it be an issue for CZ's (for instance) too? I've never tried to load any bullets heavier than 124 gn in 9mm and had no idea I might be in a danger zone...

I have reloaded bullets from 95gr to 147gr in my cz pistols with no problems. I was shooting bear creek moly 147s yesterday. My main problem is making sure I don't load the rounds too long. Cz barrels have a short leade. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/leade
