Just finished a nice build on an ar. Rock River upper, various suppliers on all other parts. Lookin to find a good load for it. I had some left from m last bushmaster I had, but they don't shoot as well as I'd like....... Barrell is 1-8 twist all of my other loads were loaded with 68 - 75 gr. bullets. Any that wants to share some 'ringer' loads,,,,,,,,I'm very greatfull.

I have a 1-9 barrel and load 55 grainers so my loads wont fit your application, but I will mention that Ramshot Tac and Hodgdon H4895 have given me the most accurate loads in .223 with my AR. I had bad results concerning accuracy with the ol tried and true Varget.

A 1 in 8 barrel should handle 68-75gr bullets just fine. Have you tried working up a load for the new upper or just using your old load data? Every barrel is unique and a "ringer" load in someone else's gun may not impress you at the range.

I've had good luck in my 1:8 with 77gr Sierra MatchKings on top of 23.6gr of Varget, seated to 2.260". 69gr SMKs shoot very well too, both with Varget and with H335.

With that barrel a 77gr Sierra HPBT over a charge of 22.0gr H335.
My go-to load is a Sierra 55gr bullet over 25.0gr H335.

Along with H335, with heavy bullets Varget, BL-C2 and 4895 will also work well. ALSO, IMR's new powder 8208 XBR is getting crazy write-ups for both accuracy and consistency. You might want to give it a try if you can find some. (I can't find it locally) That powder just might deliver that "ringer load" you're looking for...
