My grandfather recently acquired a large quantity of partially completed aluminum rifle stocks. I think... It looks like an AR buttstock but i really don't know what it is. I think ive seen them online before but am not sure... Check the pictures, any info is appreciated.

Weird spring action. Even the belt feds and QD guns never got shown with anything like that as far as I can find in my papers. Must be heavy, eh?

It's actually quite light, very. Its hollow and doesn't seem to be a full length stock. I don't know what to think about it. They are in varying stages of completeness, almost like they were ordered and got canceled.. They are pretty old and corroded so I doubt they have any value except scrap metal. Thanks for the input, hope we can all figure out this mystery.

They look like "try gun" stocks. These are adjustable stocks put on guns so various stock angles, pull distances, etc. can be "tried" by a customer before a custom stock is made. They are used by custom gun makers or by stock makers who specialize in custom stocks for skeet/trap shooters.

They look somewhat similar to the Colt 607 Stock. Is that big rectangular thing on the side of the stock a latch? It might be a collapsible stock.

it looks like that latch or whatever would interfere with a charging handle unless it was designed to work with the version with the charging pull in the A1 carry handle design?
