Ok, I've been looking for the answers online, but I can't seem to find anything solid.

I just assembled my first AR15 lower. (Doublestar stripped + DPMS lower parts kit.) I would like to install this buttstock:
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=217096
It's a thumbhole stock, full length.

My question is, what kind of buffer tube, spring, buffer do I need if I plan on installing a 16" barreled upper with a carbine gas system? And do I need anything else? (Other than the upper, obviously.)

I looked on AR15.com, but couldn't find an answer.

Thanks in advance. :)

Depends on the stock specs, which Midway neglects to mention. I checked the reviews, looks like you need a standard length receiver extension (buffer tube) which probably means you'll need a standard length spring. As far as the buffer itself, I want to guess you'd need a carbine buffer, but I haven't experimented with different buffer weights on different barrel/gas system combinations.

I'd imagine that it would use a standard buffer tube if it takes 'standard hardware for installation' (per Midway).

The only time you need to worry about a carbine buffer tube (and assocated hardware) is if you're using a collapsible stock.

OK, so for this stock then, a rifle length buffer tube, rifle spring (looking at Wolff) and either a carbine buffer or rifle buffer depending on the length of the gas system on the upper assembly? (Found a mid-length at Bravo that is almost what I want.)

you might want to call bell and carlson and ask them, actually. the thing that would make me a little nervous is why the spring detent needs to be replaced to install the stock.

I interpret

Use standard recoil pad and hardware for installation (not included)

to mean it uses a standard A1 (rifle) buffer tube, buffer and spring. Your best bet would be to contact Midway or Bell and Carlson. One way or another, if it takes a rifle buffer tube, it uses a rifle buffer and spring and if it takes a carbine length buffer tube, it takes a carbine buffer and spring. That's independent of the length of the gas system; i.e., no mixing.

+1 on not being able to use a carbine buffer in a rifle tube.

On a side note, do you actually like the looks of that thing? I'm not being sarcastic, or rude here. I just hope the only reason you're buying it isn't because you live in NY and have to deal with the our dumb AWB.

I'm in NY too (actually a few minutes away from you in Binghamton:D), and have just got my 2nd lower (Spikes Tactical, this time around), and bought a Magpul MOE. Even though I have to pin it, to make it NY legal, it looks a hell of a lot better, and I can actually choose what length to pin it at.

Just wanted to let you know you have more options out there, even in NY. Plus, $104 is kinda spendy for a stock (like that) alone. I got my MOE stock, buffer tube, buffer, and spring for about $136ish shipped.

Here's a pic of it (I haven't pinned the stock yet, so it's not installed, obviously):
