AR cycling question. any thoughts?

As state above, the AR carbine will cycle faster than the AR rifle. The shorter gas tube and shorter buffer tube combined with a larger gas port in the barrel means the carbine works harder and faster over a shorter distance than the rifle does. If you are used to pulling the trigger at the cyclic limit for the carbine, the rifle will be noticably slower. And if you get a chance, try out an AR pistol. Faster still.

Jeff, rbernie- Thanks guys, I used both of your suggestions and got the rifle back in working condition. Then, satisfied that the rifle worked properly, I was able to trade it straight up at my local dealer for a used M4. This is my first carbine and it's a BLAST! Thanks for all the help guys.:D

Thank you all.

Thank you for contacting Banc of America Investment Services, Inc.
I sincerely appreciate all of the help and suggestions. I might just be used to the carbine and its faster and more abrupt cycling, and I’ll just have to get used to it. I’m going to have my gunsmith give it a quick once over just to rule out any mechanical issues that I might not detect. Also thanks for the heads-up about the British SS109. I was going to get some, but I think that I’ll hold off until I can try some first.
