Hey guys, able to pick this AR15 up if I want, but I have questions on the sight. It's a barska optic and I've heard mixed reveiws on them. Anyone have experience with this one or know the model number and/or specs of it? The review if heard are the only thing holding me back on getting this. Seller wants 1500 with a few hundred round of ammo included

Thanks for any info you can provide on it

Seller built it, I'll try to get more info on it. It's a bit of a drive to go personally look at it....maybe I'll also ask if he could drop the price of the optic and he can keep it. Thanks for the help.

He also said it cost right at or over 1000 to build...then the attachments, and used current market to determine his asking price

Olympic arms is one of the cheaper lines of AR's out there. Lots of threads about their 'crappyness'. If this one happens to function fully and not have any issues, it is still a lot of money.

if you have a local vendor you like, see if they do online transactions. Many stores nowdays do for a 20 dollar or so fee. That is a heck of a lot cheaper than the taxes from a local store. And keep your eye out at websights like this, you can get a much better gun for 1500 dollars, even with todays prices.

As we write Bud's Gun Shop has 4 models of Double Star ARs and 2 Bushmasters for less than $1,500 and all of them are brand new. Take a pass and perhaps wait a few months.

$1500 for somebody's garage-built Olypmic AR? I know times are crazy, but I'd pass on that one.

My thoughts exactly, and the addition of a low end optic does nothing to sweeten the deal as far as I'm concerned.

I'd say take a big time pass. What everyone has said, plus, with Wal-Mart's being able to scare up the occasional Colt 6920 or a SIG M400 for 1,000 +/- $100, I would say pass.

The only way I would consider this is if the barrel or upper is from a well-respected manufacturer like Daniel Defense, Noveske, Spikes, BCM, etc. and met or exceeded all "mill spec" requirments (1:7 twist, chrome lined, HPT/MPI tested, proper feed ramps, properly staked carrier key, MP bolt, Auto carrier, etc.)
