So I thought it was time for an AR thread. Post the pics of your black rifles be they clean or "in action" dirty!

Here's mine. It's a Smith and Wesson MP-15T with an Eotech 556.AR223 holosight, Mako bipod/forend, Fenix TA-21 light with Daniel Defense offset light mount, flip up Troy iron-sites, and a Blackhawk Single point sling and adapter. The vest is a Blackhawk Omega Crossdraw that holds 6 AR mags and 4 pistol mags. Optic is a 20-80X binoc setup, knife is a Ka-bar, folder is a Smith and Wesson SWAT Auto, and the pistol is my precious Sig P226R .40.

I'll play ball. Too lazy to break out all the SHTF gear. If I feel inclined, ill break them all out and give a sneak peak...right before I go on that boating trip...

since i don't have a use for it, neither should you.

OP, are you a bird watcher? If not, out of curiosity, what is the pair of binoculars for?

very cool gear by the way, no matter what your profession is.

When the zombie apocalypse goes down, and the OP is locked & loaded, we'll see who's laughing

Nice gear though, I'm jealous

DTI Midlength 16" HBAR kit, Stag lower, Cav Arms M4 Midlength handguards, MagPul MOE grip and MOE trigger guard, LMT-style rear sight, and a PA M3 on a high cantilever mount.

Planned upgrades include a MagPul UBR stock, BAD lever, windowed PMAGs, MOE v.2 flip-up rear sight, MOE handguards, and MOE RVG; Elzetta light mount and light; LaRue Pivot and magnifier; BCM Gunfighter Med. charging handle, and a JP trigger.

I know I sound like a MagPul fanboy, but what can I say--I like their stuff. :)

Edit: I plan on getting a quality vest sometime, too, for classes and competition.

Here's "Black Mike" in it's current config.

16" Del-ton rifle kit
Spike's Tactical lower
Bill Springfield 4lb trigger with speed hammer
Ergo ambi sure grip
Smith Enterprises Vortex flash hider
NM round front post
Daniel Defense EZ CAR 7.0 handguard
LMT rear sight
Magpul CTR stock
Not pictured: Pmags, CMMG .22 conversion and cheap 3 point sling. Oh, and my Winchester 12x50 binoculars! :D Seriously I hate when I forget to take them to the range with me.

Magpul covers are being replaced this afternoon with ladders style covers. Spike's has them half price until the end of the month, $5 each!

Also have a new .22 dedicated upper that I built from Spike Tactical components -- no pic yet.

WooHoo! I finally get to play, my latest purchase and first foray into the AR world. This is my Rock River Arms LAR-6.8 Mid-Length A4 with RRA front folding sight block, ARMS #40L rear BUIS RRA off-set 30mm mount holding an Aimpoint CompC3. It came with one PRI 25-round mag, I've since bought a 5-round hunting mag and 8 25-round mags from C-Products.
As this is my first AR rifle I've been pleasantly surpised at the range and only having shot about 100 rounds so far, I just haven't seen the dirt and grime in the chamber that we've all read so much about. I've been shooting SSA 90gr and SSA 110 gr ammo through it.
Now I've never shot an AR .223, so it must be like shooting a BB gun after shooting a 6.8, because the recoil is very manageable.

Are you in law enforcement? If not, out of curiosity, what is the vest for?

I am a security officer at the local mall...this is our duty gear as you have no idea how dicey things can get! You should see the trouble that brews around tax free weekend! Haha jk. I'm not what I think I remember you referring to as a "mall ninja" but regardless of profession, I think that any avid shooter (be they civilian or LEO) should learn to use a tacvest. Even for competitions they are very handy and, of course, it's always best to train with the gear that you work in.

Mall Ninja? That's not Mall Ninja.

THIS is Mall Ninja.

And not the least bit ashamed about it :D

Yeah, that's me and my Robarm XCR. And before anyone comments, no I'm not wearing MARPATs, those are BlackHawk I.T.S. tourniquet pants and shirt.

I actually wasn't going to wear the balaclava at first, but that photograph was taken in January, and it was cold and windy and generally miserable out there.

These are my two frankenguns...

The top has a BCM SS 410 16" mid length barrel, Magpul UBR stock, BCM bolt, Geiselle SSA trigger group with JP springs and a Nightforce 2.5-10X32 scope in an ADM Recon mount.

The bottom has a Bushmaster 14.5" barrel running an Osprey piston system, with all Magpul furniture and an ACOG TA44S in an ADM B2 mount.

Nothing fancy here. Spikes lower with cmmg 20" 1x7 chrome lined government profile barrel upper.

What's that magazine-holder-VFG gizmo on your XCR?

It's a cheap FAB/Mako/CAA/etc. VFG mag holder.

It's cheap plastic, and I bought it expecting to give it a really negative review. Surprisingly, it actually works a lot better than I thought. It doesn't drop free, so it's not going to improve your reload speeds or anything, but it's not too difficult to grab the magazine, hit the release, and pull it free to reload.

It's also pretty comfortable in my opinion. For $30 it turned out to be a decent deal, but it seems they've gone up to around $33-$35 now.

THIS is Mall Ninja.

Wow. All black gear and everything.

those are BlackHawk I.T.S. tourniquet pants and shirt.

I have to ask, what the heck is the tourniquet part of the pants and shirt? Do they have built in tourniquets in case you get shot in an arm or leg?

Here's my AR, although it's a 22LR dedicated upper. Very, very fun rifle to shoot and do "tactical" drills with.

I'd be remiss as a computer guy if I didn't mention VSO Image Resizer (http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer). It's a good, free program for resizing large pictures so they're easier to upload.
