That's actually not a half bad idea, as long as they're not horribly uncomfortable and restrict movement. Is there a strap on there that you just pull on real hard and then twist and tie it down to cut off the circulation?

Oh, and $50 at a flea market around here will get you a MOLLE vest with 2 mag pouches already on it. MOLLE is great because you can add or remove pouches and put them wherever works best for you.

I've had to use one of those vests with the fixed mag pouches before and HATED it.

Exactly right again. The straps are hidden inside the pockets, so you basically reach into your pocket and pull the strap tight, and then twist and lock a plastic windlass in place to hold it.

Now, you do NOTICE that they're there when you're wearing it, but I've never found it restrictive to movement.
 
Bought this new around 1978 or 1979. Paid about $375 if I recall correctly. Came with one 20 and one 5 round magazine. Stolen in 1985 and recovered by the cops in a drug house raid a few months later. Never felt the need for any fancy attachments.

BTW- CBRGator, you do realize many folks would ask the same question about owning these rifles and not being a LEO. I don't worry about a lawful citizen owning an Ar15 (or an M16 for that matter) and I surely am not concerned about a vest with mag pouches.

I haven't seen one for awhile, I owned one some years ago.

Zeiss, 3.5x10x44, its a pure hunting rig...

I may also try the TR24G on the far right weapon also, depending on needs.

The LMT on the top belongs to my Dad. The lower AR-15 belongs to me.

Anyway, the guns in this pic are LMT defender, S&W M&P40 compact, Glock 17 3rd gen, AR-15 with DSArms Lower receiver group and Spike's tactical upper receiver group, Walther PPK (Piece of ****), Kimber Crimson ultra-carry, S&W airweight, Sig Mosquito, some "tomahawk" knife, Baikal/Remington SPR 450, Mossberg 500, Remington 870.

So I and my family are fully prepared for teh upcoming zombie apocalypse.

i just finished building a new one with magpul furniture and DD lite rail that's all magpul flat dark earth (i duracoated all the parts before assembly). i'll try to get a picture up in the mid june
 
Well, I just finished checking every single cell phone, hard drive and computer I currently have. I apparently do not have a single photograph of my M&P-15R in 5.45, the only actual AR-15 that I own.

I'm also out of town... my town. Relative to myself... not your town. *long pause*

SO! I'll get a photograph as soon as it's possible. Probably won't be until mid-late June.
