I'm looking for recommendations on low profile sights for an AR pistol build. I really like the CZ Scorpion sights but can't find a set - and the price looks pretty steep.

I may end up with a cheap red dot. That's not the end of the world, but I'd like to avoid electronics if practical.

Any recommendations?

That caught my eye but it is expensive and, from what I can tell, does not have a corresponding front sight. We're looking at what it will take to machine a simple front and rear sight pair. Looks like more trouble than it's worth.

I ended up with a $20 "AMZN special" Pinty. It has mixed reviews tilting towards "good'nough."

The lowest AR sights I have ever used are the MagPul BUIS, but they aren't that low, as the thing was setup for taller sights. I prefer my nice SIG Romeo5 red dot instead.

One little red dot is as small as you can get.

Fixed, rail mounted sights will be standard height.

The Scorpion is taller than an AR, IIRC.
The original Scorpion sights are very low profile, but now I think they went to MBUS flip up sights. The CZ has a drop on the stock comb, so it uses low sights.

I feel safe saying this as it is fairly popular opinion; RDS is not what it used to be. Technology, ruggedness, battery life, and size have all vastly improved in just the past 5 years among major manufacturers.

Nothing to be avoided unless you have specific eye conditions that make it a hassle or you’ve chosen an LPVO. I had in mind setting all of my ARs up with Troy BUIS before I discovered next gen red dots, now I’m skipping the added expense of irons for the 6 rifles currently lacking them. That’s money now allocated to RDS for pistols.

The Scorpion sights are much lower than AR height.

You can also get them that "shake awake" so you can just leave them on and not worry about it. Another plus in the battery life category.

I picked up a Sig Sauer Romeo MSR for right at $100 on Black Friday, from PSA. Got it in the mail the other day, seems super tough.

Why low? On the AR pistols I've handled, F-marked front and standard rear seem about the right height to get behind. You'd have to really scrunch down there to see anything lower.
Yeah, I quickly discovered low profile sights on an AR means I have to use a lower eyelid weld as opposed to a cheek weld. My two AR pistols have red dots on 3/4" risers in order for me to sight comfortably.
