Just wondering: How do the Troy flip-up rear sights compare with the ARMS #40 in terms of quality? How much does a Troy cost? I couldn't find a website that had prices listed for them...

Anyway I was thinking of building an AR and I was wondering if anyone had experience with either sight and liked/disliked it.

MSTN has the Troy flip-up battle sights. They are much better built than the ARMS, but the Troy rear has only one aperture - the large one.

I've used both and prefer the Troy. Since this is designed to be a "back up" sight, I don't might having only the large aperture. Hits on IPSC targets are still possible to several hundred yards. The Troy also sits lower when folded down, which allows more optics choices to be mounted over it.

As was mentioned, MSTN sells them.
I recently bought a ACOG for my M4orgery and called Wes to order an ARMs #40 for it. He advised me to get the Troy Industries sight. I always trust Wes and Paul's advice and ordered one. I haven't got it yet so I can't give you any solid information other than to say that the people I consider to be the best in the business recommended it.
I have an ARMs #40 on a different carbine and it works fine. I have it as a BUIS and don't use it a whole lot, but it does what it is supposed to fine.

I sure do like my new 40L. The Troy's are nice, but I don't care for the adjustment controls.
