Hi everybody
I know this subject has been probably used more than some people would like but im in the market for an AR-15 style rifle. Mostly for fun at the range and maybe to tag a couple coyotes this sesason, inexpensive is best. I was looking at the DPMS lite 16 or some member of the bushmaster or stag arms family. Also i would be willing to buy uppers and lowers and assemble them.

ANY advice is welcome and much appreciated

Option 1

go with a Del_ton Kit if you want a inexpensive AR

Option 2

Go the CMMG way.

Lower

I am convinced WEG posts that chart because he knows how much I hate it.

In any event, if the guy wants a coyote gun, I wouldn't recommend a 16" carbine such as those on the list. Horror of horrors, a Colt 6920 may not be the best choice!!!

For a good bench and coyote gun, I'd look at something with a heavy barrel at the least, preferably a bull barrel. 20" is nice, 24" should give you a bit more velocity. Bulls will be heavy and aren't the best for schlepping around or for fighting.

The Stag Model 6 has gotten good reviews.

Del-ton makes some GREAT AR-15s. My upper has been flawless with all ammo (including steel-cased). I'd go with a mid-length or rifle-length though.

I had some problems with a del-ton kit I put together for a friend, while the m-aparts.com kits I have put together have never had any problems, aside from an assembly error. Not saying Del-ton is crap or anything, but I had better luck with the LMT uppers from m-a.
