my next wo purchases will be an AR and a Garand
since the ban is gone I think the AR wins right now
What make do you like and what caliber

Consider: They are not going to be making any more 500$ Garands. ARs are going to be readily available new for the forseeable future. I would get the CMP Garand.

+1 on the M1. CMP is running out of good ones, as soon as they dry up, there ain't gonna be any more.

If you go with the M4gery, I'd build. You get exactly what you want, for a few hundred bucks cheaper, and you get the knowledge you can only get by putting one together.

what markings should I look for to know if its a greek, danish, or other

or will the numbers tell me that?

any help or links would be great
