i'm in the market looking for a complete ar15 .223 bottom, and later getting the top matching to the caliber i want to shoot. i'm leaning towards the .450 bushmaster right now. i found a local ffl dealer that can get me a few lower receivers like bushmaster, dpms, armalite, river rock. again i'm leaning more towards the bushmaster bottom receiver. he gave me a quote for the bushy complete bottom minus butt for about $259. any objections or things i should know or think about a different brand? i'll be making the purchase tomorrow if everything goes well.

Look at it this way, a stripped lower is generally $100-140 (someone will point out one for $85) depending on brand. A lower parts kit is $75 tops if you go with the standard Bushmaster, RRA, Stag, or DPMS. Thats what you get for that $260, but it is assembled. There are simple instructions online. Is it worth $60 to not spend 30 minutes putting it together? Of course you might not be able to find a stripped lower locally and that can complicate the price somewhat.
Have you called any other gun shops in the area? I am sure you could beat that price online, but its a matter of getting it shipped and what the cheapest FFL transfer fee you can find in your area is gonna be.

my city doesn't actually sell ar15s anymore, or so i heard, not anywhere. i had to go to a near by town to get this quote. great customer service and this was where i bought my first hand gun. other than that the other places are at least 30-40 mins away. you do have a point there. i'll sum up the cost and i'll see weather i want a complete or stripped... i don't know how to put it together but again learning will be really helpful. thanks for the advice.

Standard is generally single stage combat trigger. Not great for target shooting. heavy pull and not very smooth. It might creep a bit. But there isn't supposed to be any movement, the trigger just breaks.
Two stage is a bit of travel before the actual pull. Could be a combat trigger too.
Two stage match is like the two stage but it should have a crisper break, and generally not as heavy of a break. Nice for target shooting
You can also get single stage match triggers, which is like the "standard" trigger, but nice for target shooting.

I've always love a woman of that caliber.... well i ended up getting the complete bushy .223 bottom end today. hopefully arrive next week with all this christmas stuff going on. i might start out with getting the cheapest .223 upper until later when the seasons starts again i'll decide on the caliber i want.
