My AR15 is a home build with a Spike's LPK. Today at the range when I fired it, if I held the trigger back after firing, it would fire a second round. I thought it might have been my reloads, so I put in some Wolf ammo and got the same thing. I happened a few times and they put the rifle away. Any ideas what might be causing it? I've fired a few hundred rounds since I built it and never had this problem.

if your rifle doesn't behave as described in the video, it is highly likely, as badkarma said, that your disconnector is the culprit. it could be out of spec or not assembled correctly

Something is out of spec, improperly assembled, worn/damaged, or you have a piece of debris in the works. Remove FCG parts and inspect. If everything looks OK, reassemble, and be sure to do so properly.

Sounds like you hammer isn't resetting properly. As stated above you probably have a spring in upside down.
Is it doubling or firing when you release the trigger?

Thanks for the replies. There was some space between shots, so I think it was firing again when I released the trigger.

Make sure you don't have a primer or something lodged under the disconnector, then. Sounds like the disco is hooking the hammer, but not coming forward far enough to transfer it to the sear, thereby releasing the hammer when you let off the trigger.

Like others suggested, It sounds the disconnector sear is not engaging. Make sure the spring didn't fall off before installation
or something else funky is going on with the trigger group.

I finally took some free time to take a look at it. I don't know how I missed that the trigger pin was about 1/8" in out of the receiver. I used a Spike's kit and their pins are slightly different. I think I swapped them when I built it the first time. I took the assembly apart and put it back together, and the function check was good. I'll see how it shoots tomorrow.
