Agree with Brainsmith and a couple other posters:
1) Ammo - Run some Federal Lake City 5.56x45Nato through it
2) Extractor spring kit
3) Extractor
4) New Bolt

Did the bolt come with the upper from Daniel? If so, I am surprised that is an issue.

I'll get out to the range Wednesday with some factory loads of 556 and 223. 90% sure it's ammo as I think of it. The first 50 rounds in this gun were factory and ran flawlessly. These hand loads have worked well in carbines but I've got a middy. Leads me to think it's under pressured. I'm gonna make some more loads at the higher end of the spec and try those as well. I've also got another bolt I'll try, JIC.

I've got a ceramic coated Stoner bolt, Daniel defense barrel and a carbine buffer.

Driving back from the range right now. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Ate everything and spit it out perfectly. Extractor spring solved the problem. Three dollar part to the rescue! Thanks a lot.

The old extractor spring showed excessive wear. Compared to the new spring it was compressed nearly an entire coil short. The bolt has a little over 1000 rounds. The wear on the spring seems excessive for that lifetime. Perhaps it was defective. It had a white insert, if that means anything. But, new spring with black insert and all is well.

How about the size of the wire itself? Was the old spring noticeably thinner than the old?

Pictures would be great.

For some reason I can't post pics. I tried earlier and now I still can't. Something between THR and Tapatalk.

Anyway, yes. The wire itself is a thinner gauge. Also, with the old spring I could manually move the extractor. With this new spring I cannot.
