Last week I bought a DPMS AR15, and for whatever reason it doesnt have a sling swivel on the front sight base, despite the holes being there for one. The M4 stock does have a sling swivel. I'm not sure if there is a reason for it not being there, or if someone at DPMS simply forgot to install it when assembling the gun. But whatever the reason, its not a big deal.

I'm going to order a sling swivel and pin from BravoCompanyUSA, and it says on their site that the pin requires some sort of "special tool" to install the pin. But it makes no mention as to the type or name of the tool needed.

Does anybody know what tool they are referring to? I assumed all I'd need is a hammer and punch to install it.

Heres the link, if it helps any:

Thanks!

I use a 3/8" roll pin punch with the sight tower braced onto a nylon bench block to install the swivel rivet if that helps you in any way.
A standard flat tip punch will not allow the rivet walls to roll over correctly, it will just mash the rivet down against the tower through hole.

i personally dont use them they are of no use to me, i use a one point sling and attachment on the buffer tube, if you start doing some serious training, especially in gear you will see why they are so great. single points that is.
