Colt M4 - Removing the front sling swivel

Are there any tips, tricks, or gotchas with removing the front sling swivel on a Colt M4? I'm installing an MOE SL hand guard and the swivel needs to go.

Which one do you have? Picture will help. If it's type that goes around the barrel you have to remove the gas block / front sight assembly.

Just be sure to use a steel punch. When I removed my I grabbed a brass one without thinking and bent it. :banghead:

Simple punch with smaller diameter than rivet.

Highly recommend using a steel punch over drilling. 1/16" punch, a few light taps with a hammer and it was out! Really like the MOE SL. Just need to get some parts to reinstall my sling.
