AR15 magwell problem

I have a DPMS 16 inch carbine that I am quite fond of. I've had it for a couple of years, and it has been accurate and reliable and until now I have had no problems. The only regular capacity magazines available locally were orlite and British SA80 steel mags. I've used these extrensively and have had no problems, other that the feed lips of the orlites being a bit on the fragile side. With the end of the ban I went to Guns and Ammo today and picked up several Colt 20 rd magazines, marked LEO only. I like the 20s for aesthetic reasons. Here I was all excited about my purchase only to get home and discover that none of the mags fit in my well. It was like they were just slightly too large. They would slide in place and lock if I used considerable preasure, and were difficult to pull from the well. There are visible rub marks at the front of the mag body (2 straight lines about 1 mm in from the edges of the mag). If it were only one or two mags I would be willing to think it was a mag issue, but it is all of them. If it is my magwell and it is out of spec, how big a repair issue is it? It can't be a big variance, because the orlites and Brit mags all work fine. Any suggestions?

Are the Colt mags new? If not they may be tweeked/twisted a little. I ran into some that looked new but were non marked LEO used trade ins. Seams that a local LEO whould use them and after the mags got steped on and twisted they would trade/sell them and get marked mags. They looked good and you couldn't see the twist in the mags, had to measure them to notice. If you are careful you can tweek them in a vice or using pipe clamps into usable condition.

If these are new I would measure them and see if they are twisted if so get them replaced.

You might call DPMS and find out if there is anything they can do to help you out.

Gee whiz, is Olympic Arms now making lowers for DPMS?

On a serious note, this is exactly how my Oly behaves. Orlites and SA80 mags are just a tad smaller and drop free from my Oly.
