Hello - I want to put a "fiber optic" front sight post on my target AR15 that has the standards front sight base and iron post. I've done some research and narrowed it down to two choices: the Meprolight tritium night sight, and the MSP fiber optic sight.
I realize the difference between a FO and a tritium sight, but the Meprolight seems like it's a bit higher quality and easier to install. than the MSP, based on reviews I have read.
I only shoot in the daytime with this gun, targets @ 100 - 200 yards.
My question is: What will the Meprolight will look like in the daytime? Since it obviously won't be green in the daytime, is it just a white object like any tritium sight, and will it provide me with the same sighting "experience" as the fiber optic, except in white? Or should I go with the MSP?
Thanks

Tritium is a lot better for low light shooting, fiber is better for higher light.

I wish I had my acog so I could show you the difference with the fiber optic in day/night.

A tritium sight in the daytime looks like a plain nonilluminated iron sight with a painted white dot in it, whereas a fiber optic sight in the daytime looks like a brightly glowing colored LED.

Now *at night*, a tritium sight looks like a faintly glowing colored dot (like a spot of glow-in-the-dark paint, except it takes a decade to fade noticeably) whereas a fiber optic sight will look like a regular nonilluminated iron sight.

Thanks all. Looks like I need to go with the MSP fiber optic. If you have a better FO sight that you recommend, feel free to do so. I was considering the Hi-Viz but have heard -- and seen for myself -- that they are not very bright.

Thanks Monkey - That appears to simply be a re-branded MSP, or vice-versa. I'm going to be ordering from Midway and they carry the MSP brand.
