I want to be able to change calibers on the AR15 platform because I plan on getting one. I have heard that you can get uppers for 243 Win and 50 Beowulf. What other calibers are out there and what should I consider? Where do you reccomend that I buy them from?

Are you wanting a repeater or are you just wanting a launching platform for different cartridges?

Hopefully a repeater. Different platforms is better than nothing. It is illegal to hunt with semis in PA though. Is it legal to hunt with semis using single shot(1 round in chamber, none in magazine)?

Oh, I just meant that if you were open to single shots, there are a lot of options. Pretty much anything between the 22lr and the .50BMG and several steps in between.

if you removed the Gas tube from an AR you could hunt with one in PA

but i would expect the Game Commision to come look at your rifle

Where can I get the 50 BMG(and other) AR uppers? I'll do single shot too.

How hard is it to remove the gas tube on an AR?
