Got this guy on Thursday November 7th at 8:15am. He was freshening up his scrapes and came by me at 13 yards. Let him have a 100 gr muzzy 3-blade. He jumped about 4ft in the air and gave the world famous mule kick and headed up the draw only to expire a mere 40 yards later. The is my second pope and young entry two years in a row. Never considered myself a lucky hunter until now lol. Good luck to all still hitting the woods!!!!

WOW!!! Looks like he didn't make it but 10 inches or so from where you shot him...the blood trail leads from the edge of the cardboard to right in the middle of the cardboard.:D

Seriously though...that is a great animal. Second P&Y in two years? Great job. Congrats.

I moved to this part of the state about 4 years ago and it took me two years of only harvesting does and getting skunked when it came bucks before I finally got the draws and creeks halfway figured out. But I am sure all of you know how deer hunting goes, once you think you have them figured out they throw you a curve ball. I guess we will see how next season goes lol. Thanks for all the replies!!

That is actually the worst the garage has looked in a long time. I am in the middle of a complete bathroom remodel which is the only reason you see the plastic wrapping, sheetrock, and roll of linoleum behind me lol. The third garage stall is where I keep most of my horn collection and hunting clutter lol.

Well done.

Do I have persmission to use your story and photograph for next year's hunter safety course, for demonstrating that many of the very successful archers out there going for deer can get the deer in close, and the deer don't travel very far when properly hit?
