I've seen only a little bit of info on these, and just wanted to ask the regular list of questions regarding them (all models of Arcus)--

Reliable?
Worth the money?
Mags hard to find?
Ergonomically pleasing?
... etc.

Any opinions are welcome... :)

from what i understand they take browning hp mags. so it shouldn't be too hard to find them.

I have tried one on. They are what a BHP would be if built by Ruger. Heavy, blocky and no style. I tried three BHP mags in the one Arcus and only a FEG fit and functioned well. My factory hi-caps from Browning FTF. They work fine in my MKIII BHP though. I did not find them to be a parts swapable/interchangable with Browning HPs as advertised. The one I wrung out did function and fed ball fine. It choked on every HP I tried. I would look for another BHP clone from FEG or Charles Daly. The FEG is the better clone. If you can afford it, buy a Browning HP MKIII. I did.

I have had one for about 4 yrs now, and love it. It is accurate and reliable for me. They do take HP mags. It is still the favorite of all my 9mm's, with the Springfield XD a very close second. IMO there is very little felt recoil with the Arcus. All I done was to take out the mag safety, polish the feed ramp, and "stone" the trigger very little. I would highly recomend one.

I have one and think it is a fantatic buy!

I am using BHP 17 round Argentine military mags purchased from CDNN and have been trouble free in mine.

Over 2000 rounds through it and have not had to replace springs or anything else and never had a malfunction of any kind.

The slide is a little blocky, but not bad looking.

Sights are large and easy to see with my old eyes.

I read nothing but good stuff on those mags, but the one I got from CDNN won't feed the first 2 rounds in my FEG, I have to down load it to 15 rounds.

I cleaned up one that a friend bought (full size, single action on my recommendation) and put 200 rounds of ball through it with no failures. I didn't try any HPs myself but he said it fed some HPs fine... I'll have to ask which ones worked for him next time I see him. And I've handled a few others... all looked similarly well finished - which is very decent for the price, but not outstanding.

As far as comfort, they look blocky... well, blockier than the actual BHP desigh, but it feels very similar which is to say, it feels like one of the two or three most comfortable handguns in the world in my opinion.

A while back they were going for $200 but I haven't seen one for less than $250 in a while now. If I found one for $200, I'd snatch it. The Charles Daly is more true to the design and I wouldn't not take a Daly, but I'd rather have the Arcus. Actually, I'd probably try to save my pennies and save my dimes and find a used FN or Browning.

While they are a different style of gun over the standard BHP lines. I think they are the best copy going........Forged frame/slide....HC frame etc.
Mine is an absolute shooter and Ill second the mention of very little felt recoil. Mine hasnt had a jam in over 500 rnds but Im the second owner also so it was worked out before I got it.
The grip is identical to the BHP and takes the grips for the gun made by everyone, the Mags work flawlessly from every BHP Ive tried also.
The parts interchangeability is an issue.....mine needed a new sear and only the Arcus pc. dropped in without any argueing.

I would highly recommend these guns...........................Shoot well.
