I was reading about them on here a while back and for some reason I thought they were C&R rifles. I even sent in my C&R to SOG because they have them for $59. I was just checking their site today though and there is no C&R logo next to them. I don't know why I thought they were C&R eligible, but I could of swore they were until just now.

I am 90% sure they are, but I could be wrong. I wish I could tell you where the big list of C&R eligible guns are as far as the law itself goes, but I could have sworn they were eligible.

I have the list the BATF sent me with my license and the only thing I could find for Romanian was the SKS model 56. This list was published back in 2001 though.

A buddy of mine recently tried to order a couple from SOG using his C&R and was told they are not eligible. Though he didn't try anyone else, I would imagine SOG knows what they're talking about, as it cost them a sale (and many others, I'm sure).
I bought two though a shop before acquiring my C&R, so no worries there.

I believe they're much like (the majority of) makarovs, many seem to think they're C&R eligible when in fact they are not. Time will change that though. ;)

They were made from around 1969 to the 70s, right? Don't C&R weapons have to be 50 years old or something?

I ordered two from SOG, but only through my friendly FFL. Good rifles, crappy wood.

I prefer to think of it as "authentic" wood. Not "crappy". But that's just me...

You're right...bad choice of words. :)

The shellac finish ain't for everyone, is all I mean.

I love my Romis - I even managed to do some amateur gunsmithing on the one that had FTFs, and now they both work like a charm and shoot like crazy.

POSSIBLE THREAD HIJACK

Anyone know how to adjust the sights on these? The front sight is adjustable by an AK tool, right? Is the rear sight base adjustable at all?

Some suppliers are getting down to the dregs. Be sure to ask about condition.

Mine was made in the early 80s and shoots fine. Doesn't feed from the magazine but for the price I don't care--I single load it.

"Don't C&R weapons have to be 50 years old or something?"

No, they just have to be considered oddball enough to qualify.

Many, but not all, of the C&R guns that are less than 50 yrs old are Commemorative editions.

I've never seen a vendor yet that will sell them as C&R, and my list doesn't include them as C&R.

I would have to say nope.

BTW, the rear sight can be drifted for windage. :D

I prefer the real hardwood stocks, forged parts and blueing of old to the compressed cardboard stocks, MIM crap parts and baked on finishes they sell nowadays.
