Are AK-47's like Glocks?

AK's don't seem to blow up because nobody loads hot ammo for it. It's not worth the effort as there will be no major improvement in accuracy at all.

Cheaply made ammunition is arguably the primary factor limiting AK accuracy; next would be the short sight radius, the pistol-style sights, and the nutation-inducing slant brake some models are equipped with.

The AR is more accurate than an AK, but the AR is also more accurate than most lever-actions and many bolt-actions; it is one of the most accurate rifles out there. The AK doesn't look bad at all when compared to a ballistically similar Winchester Model 94 with similar sights and using comparable ammo.

Have you ever actually shot a Glock?

Despite your personal bias, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more reliable handgun than a Glock. My duty weapon has had many thousands of rounds through it without a single hiccup, despite the "junky plastic" parts it is composed of. The finish on these guns is also very durable, and very corrosion resistant.

Also, despite the plastic design of the guide rod, I'm not aware of any issues that this has caused. I've also personally seen at least one highly abused Glock in which the front end of the guide rod had been broken off (this gun looked like it had been used as a hammer, so this isn't a surprise), and the gun still functioned flawlessly. In that case the spring simply behaved more like the non-captured guide rods you see on a lot of other pistols.

You don't have to buy a Glock if you don't like them, but your assertion that they don't provide reliable long-term service is off base, at least in my opinion.

Lets see if we can push this thread to the typical "I like Glock-Glock Sucks" thread. Glocks are dumb. Glocks are stupid. Glocks smell bad. MY DADDY SAYS YOUR DADDY IS DUMB BECAUSE HE USES A GLOCK. Why don't you compare framing hammers? Tired of the same old, same old. Thank goodness we live in a country we can actually make a choice. Shoot what you want.

You prefer H&K, but you think Glock is overpriced

I know, I know...and for the most part I think H&K is overpriced as well, but their pistols are the best on the market IMO (< please note the final three characters), so it is worth it to me.
