Are all stock HK USP DA triggers so heavy (stacking), or mostly in Compacts?

It was the USP .40 Compact I rented (and tried a neighbor's .40 full-length version-lousy).
A guy offered his USP in a trade, via e-mail. Could get used to the awkward HK mag release, and mostly as a fun range gun, but it's all about the triggers.

After owning HKs for a year or so, I'm used to the mag release. In fact, I prefer it. I couldn't stand the P30 V3 trigger, though, and switched it for a V1. The V1 smoothed up after a couple hundred rounds. Unfortunately, though, it's still not a great trigger.

Thanks for all of the info. Recently I acquired a '94 Sig P228, a '98 P225 and an '01 P6, all manufactured in Eckernforde, then proofed in nearby Kiel Germany ('squashed bug' stamp etc).
Even the P6' DA pull (modified spring) is identical to these other two Sigs' DA.

An HK with a decent DA stock trigger will one day be a welcome addition. I recently had a disappointing experience with a brand-new, retail Sig M11 A1 and wanted a few original 100% German P series (no more US-built Sigs for me) before deciding on which HK to later pursue.

I played with the P2000 in the shop and it wasn't very impressive, bought it anyway because it fits my hand so well. The thought being that after it had cycled some 500+ rounds it would smooth up, nope! I have to put some concentrated effort to be smooth and not pull off target during the trigger pull, even in SA. After the spring change I do better though not quite as consistent as the 229-E2 with SRT.

My P2000 is a V2 LEM, my particular specimen is a 6.5 to 7-ish lb trigger pull every time. After getting through the take up travel, the break doesn't feel terribly more than my Glock 19. Certainly not as good as the VP9 that I parted ways with since it's just a smidge too big for ME to CC, and not as good as a Walther PPQ, but an enormous improvement over typical HK DA trigger pull in the DA/SA variants. My P30L and P30SK are both V1 light LEM and they are even better.

This is the same work I had done by Lazy Wolf Guns on my P30L and P2000, Rick used to be Gray's "HK Guy" before moving on. It makes a world of difference in the pull, but more importantly fixes the "stupid-long" reset of the P series pistols.

My P30L is now my favorite pistol. I first converted it from V3 to V0; light LEM maintaining the decocker and spurred hammer (much easier to dry-fire and you can decock to relieve spring tension). Rick's work on the reset finished the package.

IMHO, the LEM really is more like a 2-stage single action trigger, than a DA trigger. Yes, technically the hammer is moving, but it's already pre-cocked.

I totally agree that the Light LEM variants are a lot more like a 2 stage SA trigger. I feel the same way about my Walther P99 when I simply rack a round in without using the de-cocking button afterward.
