Question about trigger on HK USP 9mm pistol. In my favorite gun store I handled several HK pistols. All but one had a really nice trigger pull, but the one USP 9mm had such a beastly heavy pull on DA I absolutely could not pull that tirgger!! Was something wrong with it? Or is that the way the "standard" USP comes? Their customer service says they can "drop in" a different trigger with a lighter pull, but at extra cost. What goes with that very heavy trigger pull???

The most common trigger pull for the USP is a double/single. The double action pull is about 10lbs with a single action around 4lbs.

Yes it can be lowered but there are few smiths that know how.

I guess I've gotten use to the USP trigger because I don't find them as bad as many other say  As a matter of fact, I find them to be the most consistent stock trigger there is today. Plus, after you shoot the gun some you & the pistol break in and it gets even better! ;)

That heavy trigger on the USP was a NEW gun! My 1st HK was a USP Tactical, then I bought a regular USP45. I traded the regular USP for another Tac because I was so use to the Tac's trigger. I've seen USPs with nice triggers(no mods done to the trigger, stiffness worked out due to time and use). The triggers were soft and smooth but the excessive travel and of the trigger reset overtravel was still there.

I'm guessing that you were trying one with the LEM trigger. It's not really menat to be fired DA/SA like you were trying, as when you load it you pull the slide back to chamber the first round, and that "pre-sets" the trigger to have the consistent pull that subsequent rounds will have. It has internal safeties, adn no decocker.

I got a P2000SK recently, and yes, if you have the gun in "unready" mode the trigger pull is super tough. But that's not really the way it's meat to be used, AFAIK.
