I was just browsing about and found a pic of an AMT and it looked like it had a grip safety. I've seen Lorcins (would never own one) with grips safetys so I don't think it would be that difficult and given that AMTs don't normally come with manual safties I think a grip safety would be a nice addition.

Yes that's the SA .380 Backup. Decent gun, small but heavy, filled a niche in its day, too bad QA/QC at AMT was spotty at best.

The newer DAO backup models lack safeties and relies on a heavy and long DA pull -- you can't shoot them unless you really want too :)

Be wary buying the used DAO AMT backups as too many have bubba'd trigger jobs to "improve the trigger" which result in less than reliable ignition.

Yep, the SA AMT .380 Back-ups have a stiff little grip safety. Mine sure does. It's an adequate little gun when fed properly and used within its design specs.

I wouldn't seek one out, mind you, but the price was right in this case.

Can't remember for sure, but I think my .22 LR Backup had a grip safety.
