Yes. They are excellent magazines. I have 2 20s and 2 30s. The 30s look exactly like USGI mags and function flawlessly. Their 20s have a slight curve in them and also function flawlessly, but cannot be used in sanctioned service rifle competitions due to the curve. They use the green plastic followers, have the same gray hard anodized finish as USGIs and you have a choice between the milspec stainless steel spring or a chrome silicon spring. I don't know what advantages one gives you over the orhter. All mine have SS springs.
I understand that the Brownell AR magazines are mil spec. I also like the AR Stoner Magazines, which are Mil Spec. MidawayUSA frequently sells Stoner Ar, 30-round magazines with Mag Pull followers for $9.00/per.
We sure do have some awesome opportunities, don't we?
The Brownell's magazines are not nearly up to the quality, fit and finish that my Bushmaster mags are. I have Brownells, Colt and Bushmaster mags and the Colt are the best, the Brownell's the worst.
Colt and Bushmaster get someone else to make their mags. I thought it was NHTMG and D&H Industries respectively, but I can't be sure of my memory. May have changed since last I looked.
I have seen Stoner mags out there before, but haven't looked real close. It seems that all the manufacturers have problems at one time or another.
Who really cares who actually makes the magazines for Brownells.
They are a distribution service company and a damn fine one.
The original question was "Are Brownells AR mags any good?"
The answer is yes.
The fact that Brownells supplies magazines to the Military is just that, a fact.
They have just completed the first contract delivery.
Now whether more contracts will follow is up to procurement.
