Looking on Gunbroker I see High Standard wheelguns in .22lr and .357. How is the quality? I think I read that the .357 was made by Dan Wesson for High Standard. Anyway, just curious.

Many years ago I had a High Standard Sentinel. It was a good pistol but not a great pistol. The trigger was heavy and gritty, but then it was an inexpensive revolver.

They are good working plain jane guns.

The .22's can be a pain to disassemble due to they way they are pinned together instead of screws.

On the .357's, I thought High Standard actually made early Dan Wesson's for them, until Dan Wesson got their own plant????

I have owned three or four HS Sentinals and a couple of Double Nine's over the last 50 years.
I didn't ever find one worth keeping.

None were very accurate as quality handguns go.

As BCCL noted, the .22's are a real bear to put back together after any necessary repairs.

Some High Standard revolvers were made by Dan Wesson...

and I find them good guns at a respectable price. Many had High Standard stamped on them but were actually early Dan Wesson guns that were well made. I have seen them in gun shops and Gunbroker.com at times.

I have a Sentinal that I bought in 1967,a few blue spots on it ,most wore off still will take a bowling pin down at 100 yds. has never failed to go bang, have had it apart several times,a pain in the rump, but no real big problem...JWR

Way back in the day, they offered a .44 magnum known as the Crusader. Its probably a collectible now.
