Are LCP's in a store near you

Saw one, at $299.

The only other one I've seen in the flesh was at a gun show, for the absurd price of $385.

If u can find one for $300, I would buy it, to wait and maybe save $30 or so, to me is not worth waiting for, when you don't know if and when you will even find one for that price. If you want it ,buy it and just shoot it like u stole it...Great gun..

None here in Joplin, MO. Just a waiting list, 2 on the $329, and 8 on the $266.88. So I'm on both.

The second dealer knows his bathrooms aren't as clean. He even plans to advertise "the second cleanest bathrooms in town!" You gotta love that competitive small town spirit.

I'll wait for the $266. The difference is 150 rounds of ammo. .380 is pricey, it may get me to start reloading after all.

Just got my LCP after a 2-week wait ($289). I was 4th on the waiting list-don't know how many the shop got in, but I assume it was at least 4 since I was 4th on the list.

Dealer said the magazines were harder to find than the gun-he had about 8 on the wall, but said he lucked up and found some at a supplier and took all he had. I bought 2 magazines 2 weeks ago ($19/each) when I ordered the gun.

Saw one in a store a couple days ago. Price was a little high at $329 (IIRC).

FWIW, I got a chance to put some rounds through one a couple weeks ago. With the exception of one type of surplus ammo, it went bang every time with no problems feeding. It was accurate enough at SD ranges (we shot moslty at 5 - 15 yards). The recoil was negligible and it was easy to control and get back on target for follow up shots.

I'm mostly a shotgun and rifle guy, but the LCP seemed like a handy little pistol, whether for a very concealable primary or as a backup.

One of my local shops, not a nationwide chain, has had two or three of them come in, but they've flown off the shelf almost as soon as they've come in. I bought mine from them only an hour after they unboxed it for display.

One place (a pawn shop) in town managed to get them and decided, since they were high demand, to price them at $345. So I went to my other favorite place, added my name to the list, and said it wouldn't be a problem if it was a 6 month wait.

I got the call the day before leaving on a long trip and told them to just pass it on to the next person, and that I'd get the next one after I returned. Well, got back and was visiting the store a few weeks later, and they had one on the shelf for $289. When I picked it up, the guy said he thought it was the same one they'd called me about almost a month earlier!

So one place in town couldn't keep them in stock for $345, and this (nicer) place, managed to hold onto one for a month.

:)It would pay to wait until Ruger gets caught up with the demand. See if the gun lives up to what you expect, could turn out to be a dud.

My buddy grabbed one about 2 weeks after they first hit stores. I think he was on a list for maybe 5 or 6 days before they got his in. It was at Keith's Sporting Goods in Portland. I believe he paid about $275. His has been flawless compared to his P-3AT which choked on every magazine I ever tried to put through it.

I asked at Gun Broker (not related to the website) in Tigard the other day. They said if I wanted one, I'd be about 10th on the waiting list and that it would be 5 or 6 weeks. They go for $279 there. I can't comprehend online dealers asking north of $350 or $400 for them! It seems like here in Oregon, if you look hard enough and have about 3 or 4 weeks worth of patience, you'll grab one for less than $300.

Academy does carry them - I checked with my local store, there were 6 in the 100 store chain. No interstore transfers available.

So now I'm on 3 lists.

We've had a waiting list on them that averages ~two weeks.

$270 is a good price. $290 is a nice markup. Over $300 is gouging.

Also, bear in mind that, out of six specimens I know of, four have already gone back to Ruger with feeding problems and a fifth most likely will be.
