Are there any 870s that eject from the left side?

I was thinking that a Remington model 870 pumpaction shotgun would eject from the left side instead of the right, but I'm not quite certain. Would they do this? And if not, are there any other common pump-action shotguns out there that make a version that eject shells from the left?

They have made a left hand version, at least in the Wingmaster version, I have one. I would think they still do, and would guess that it would probably need to be ordered since I don’t really see them. Kind of like a LH bolt action rifle.

Alright, so a left-handed model 870 would eject from the left side? Good. I'm gathering some information for a project I'm going to start at the beginning of the summer. I'll try to check some prices tonight.

wdlsguy: Where do you get parts and instructions on how to install a lefty safety on a righty 870?

The LH 870 is the low-end "Express." Remington no longer offers the 870 Wingmaster in LH.

The Browning BPS, priced similarly to the Wingmaster, has bottom-ejection and is billed as an ambidextrous pump shotgun. With bottom-ejection, expended shells are easier to track and you don't risk a shell flying at a fellow shooter. Check out Browning's website.

Well, I'm going to be be buying two shotguns for the project, so price is kinda a factor. I figured I'd go with an 870 because it's supposably the strongest and parts for them are easy to obtain. I'll take a look at the BPS, though.

I was looking at Ithacas, but I think that the 870 route may be cheaper in the long run and slightly easier to work on. I don't want to trust the project to Chinese-made Ithicas, even though I think they make great weapon clones.
