In my opinion, yes. They are precision machined from aluminum and operate as smooth as butter. The operation is identical to the HKS loaders only with a larger hex knob instead of a knurled knob.

They're darned purty also. I plan to have them hard gray anodized at some point soon since I have some motorcycle engine mount plates that I need to have anodized and I'll include these parts.

HKS DOES work with the regular Hogue grip, but be prepared to rip it out rather than just drop it. Safariland not at all. Those 5-Stars look nice, I'll have to pick some up.

That's the only place I looked and I bought them from the source. Not sure if they are carried at distributors.

I see they also sell blocks with these speed loaders for home or range. I'll probably just get the speedloader at 19.95 a piece

well, my hks 36 speed loaders do not fit in my lcr at all, no matter what i do. The loader stops at the edge of the brass and is at an angle to the cylinder making a very insecure loading situation that is incompatible to a defense readiness situation:

if i force it forward, it jams making it impossible to release the cartridges and remove the loader:

the 5 star on the otherhand drops right in without any interference at all:

plenty of freeplay and easy to release.

Here is a comparo:

the hks 36 works perfectly with our s&w airweights but not the lcrs.

so it is clearly the better speedloader over the hk is the aluminum one for a .38 +p ruger lcr.
