Are these good groups for a stock 10/22?

I've read where people say that you should expect about an inch at best with a stock 10/22. Mine groups the best at ~5/8" at 50 yards with CCI Standard. I get ~3/4" with Aguila Standard, Remington GB, AutoMatch, and most everything else. Do I have a particularly accurate rifle, or are people not giving the 10/22 enough credit?

If those groups are consistent, I would say you have a significantly better than average 10/22.

I suggest you place a golf ball on the 50 yard berm, and make it dance.
They're fairly consistent. I get an occasional flyer here and there, but that's to be expected with rimfire. Just about the only stuff I've tried that my rifle hates is Winchester Wildcats at about 1 1/2" or more with quite a few fliers. May have been a bad lot, though.

I haven't tried a golf ball yet, but I love to send shotgun hulls into orbit.

That's very good for a Ruger 10/22. If it was my rile, I wouldn't change a thing on it. I'd just shoot it the way it is. If I ever got the desire to tinker with it, I'd buy another 10/22 to mess with. More than likely, it would need work to shoot as good as the one you already have.

Mine isn’t completely stock . I put a Volquartsen target hammer and I have a Weaver rimfire scope on it . I get my best groups with Wolf match extra ( .54 ) Aguila match ( .66 ) CCI mini mags ( .77 ) . I shot 8 brands of ammo and only 2 were over a inch . The worst Federal match ( 2.4 ) .
