Anyone want to give me an estimate on what size group a 10/22 (factory stock + scope) should give at 50 yards?

I was using Federal "bulk pak" from Wally's and was getting 1 1/8"

thanks I am happy with it............that was for 10 shots. two "flyers" added about 1/4" to the group.

That sounds about right (maybe slightly towards the tighter-than-normal side of the average group size range). Of the number of 10/22s I've shot before modding, they normally ranged anywhere between 1¼" and 1¾" at 50 yds, IIRC. (I don't bother grouping out of the box 10/22s anymore, just go straight to modding.)

I know most people say their 10/22 is not very accurate, but mine does great. It's the Wal Mart version, with the 22" stainless free floated barrel. I can hit dime sized groups with it no problem at 50 yards. It seems to like Winchester Super-X, of all things! :scrutiny: The biggest problem with it is the horrible trigger!

Just with a few trigger parts you will improve your groups big time. With a better barrel and those trigger parts and you should be able to keep 10 rounds way inside a dime at 50 yds. I know some guys that shoot aspirin tablets at a 100 yds off the bench.
