How do you feel about wasr gp10 ak47s,are they reliable are they accurate. I am aware of the mag wobble probs, the potential for the sights to be croked and the trigger slap, but other than that are they worth buying. Also why dosnt the slide lock back on empty?

WASRs are not particularly accurate but they go BOOM when needed and will shoot minute-of-torso.

The last batches have had pretty decent sights and G2 trigger groups that do not have trigger slap.

No AK (other than the Saiga) has a last-shot bolt hold open (BHO) feature. There are some Yugo mags that will hold the bolt open on the last shot, but they have their own issues (hard to pull an empty mag out since the bolt it pressing against the extended follower).

I had one that came with a g2 trigger on it, it was very accurate (once i changed the stock and put on an m16a2 style pistol grip) never had any problems with it, got bored with it though and hocked it only to later buy a MAK90, still think the WASR10/63 i had was more accurate than the mak, though that could be due to difference in furniture

All the new Ak versions are not as good as the older Russian or Yugoslavian. The problem is different barrel components and cheap parts. They are accurate for about 200 m and will not fail you, the down size is they are heavy about 4 kg. None of the Romanian semi rifles keep the slide back once empty. If you really want a good rifle look at the Yugo or Russian SKS or few of the Bulgarian versions.

Been completely satisfied with my WASR. Fixed a canted front sight and put a Tapco trigger group in it.

My WASR GP-10 ALWAYS fires, ejects, etc. It is a little heavy. The stock is kind of short and the pistol grip is too small. The mag release is sticky but the wobble is not a realistic problem. It is heavy.

The iron sights suck. If you are a newbie and want to learn to fire a rifle get something else.

I'm not a great shooter but with a cheap red-dot I can only get about 7" groups resting against a fence rail at 50 meters with cheap Wolf steel case.

I think you could confidently drop a torso at 200 meters with 10 shots unsupported.

Well, the newer WASR's are better than the older ones. Century's gotten them pretty much down pat nowadays, well, about as good as a basic AK can get. I'd like to own one.

THe WASR i got a few years ago had no problems. Never misfed, FTE, and it had no trigger slap. I feel bad I sold it for $300 used ;(.

My WASR is a great gun, none of the problems typically associated with WASRs. It is very reliable (to be expected) and pretty darn accurate (not to be expected if you listen to everyone on the internet). Absolutely worth buying!

Yeah, I've had 2.. they go boom when you pull the trigger... I hit milk jugs at 100 yards using wolf, so accuracy can't be that bad.

they are good enough, and made even better when they have been gone over and through by the Yoda of ak's Jim Fuller at Rifle Dynamics.

I had one about 6 years ago and had a problem with the supplied mag sticking. Got a new mag and never had a problem after. Its accurate enough for combat out to about 300 yards. I wish I never sold it. Now they are a lot more expensive than they use to be.

I have a GP WASR 10/63, and a Saiga converted by Red Stick firearms into an AK-103 style. I am actually kinda partial towards the Romanian. I like the way it looks now that I've refinished the wood on it, added a new flash hider and sling.

Here 'tis:
