Are we even at war at all?

And if they don't, then we accept that some countries choose to remain backward. If it's really bad, their people will leave.

Of course that involves an assumption, and you know what those do. The assumption being, of course, that they are in fact free to leave. In most cases, this is simply not the case. In order to vote with your feet, you must first be free to walk. We successfully fought to free ourselves with little direct assistance from others. I submit that we would not have been able to do so if we did not have the Atlantic Ocean between our fledgling republic and our oppressor.

Bountyhunter's analogy

We've been living in that "neighborhood" for a long time. We've been
getting along fairly well and have even improved the 'hood a bit, you
know. But last week someone with a mean streak, maybe a wacko living
by his own lights, set fire to the back bedroom of our house. Looks
as if the "understanding" we had with the lowlifes is ruptured. Next
step? Pretend it never happened? Trash his truck? I mean, why can't
we all just get along...?

Or, from another perspective:

The problem is that conversion-by-force is now
obsolete. I think to get to a safe place we need to admit we can't convert the
world. If some countries choose to establish free democratic secular governments, however morally corrupt and impious, it's
not our job to overthrow them. Their own people have to rise up (aided by our
devout infiltrators of course). And if they don't, then we accept that some countries choose to
remain morally vile, unbelievers. If it's really bad, their people will leave.

We have to show respect for religions or things that call themselves religions
simply because we have not been appointed to judge all things religous and
eradicate "false doctrines".

Most important, we need to start following policies that show we understand not
all secularists are alike and not all Westerners are occupiers and defilers. If we alienate the entire Western
world, we will get the priviledge of living like the the Third World does: just counting time
before we get the first illness that kills us.

That is not inevitable. Most Westerners want what most people want: food, shelter, a
decent place to raise a family. Moreover, many Western countries are simply not
strong enough to expel morally corrupt elements from their countries because a large
enough percentage of their population supports them and such an action would
cause civil war. Example: America has been paying billions to Hollywood for
decades to keep their country from despair and moral clearheadedness.
Point is, we can work with secular Western nations to make them stronger and make them
see they will have a spiritually superior life when they work with us. Most of them are sick of
all the corruption as well, and the only reason those addicts and perverts exist is because they
hate themselves enough to make them believe it's worth the trouble. We can change that
if we choose to.

The hijacked airplanse on 9/11 did have their transponders turned off, but they were still tracked on radar for quite a long time.

Air force pilots were sent to their jets, but were kept on the ground waiting for clearence to take off. It SOP to at least escort planes that might be hijacked. (Remember that golfer who's plane had an oxygen problem and flew on autopilot for 4 hours? They were escorted within a half hour of warning of a problem.)

Who stopped the pilots is a good question, and since the White House and NORAD are refusing to answer questions asked by the 9/11 investigation committee, I guess we won't know. Or they will get a subpoena as they have threatened.
