While I could list at least a couple hundred firearms I'd love to own, many of which I fully intend to own one day, I have to say my collection is at a level where I am definitely content. If for some unrealistic reason I were never able to buy another firearm, I would really be fine with what I currently have.

I have all my bases covered, so to speak. My desire for new guns has gone down drastically in the last few years. I seem to prefer to shoot what I have and get more proficient/enjoyment with it. As well as study up more about the old and unique guns of times past. There's nothing I'm really excited to buy anymore, I already bought most of it. :uhoh:

I just got to wondering, am I alone in this boat? So I figured I'd do a simple poll.

I find that when I don't shoot, I buy. My head convinces me of my next need when I'm idle.

I don't have that many firearms, but I have one for each possible use that I can come up with, and some can pull double-duty. Like others, there are some I would love to own, but I would rather spend my time improving with the ones I have, than try to justify another purchase.

I do not have a collection.

I would like to have a collection.

So my answer would be no.

But for practical purposes I am okay with what I have given my current situation.

My wants and needs are in stark contrast of each other. My contentness is somewhere in between.

As with any addiction, is anyone content?

But I do have more than enough of what I need. :)

I'm pretty (maybe not perfectly) content. I've actually been selling some stuff.
Then again, I impulse buy guns more than other stuff.
I think I want a 6.5 something or other, long and thick barrel, for a Savage 10, for an overly complicated switch barrel.

I'm relatively comfortable with what I have (I have a decent amount of calibers), but I feel that I'm missing a couple odds and ends. I'd like to pick up a nice bolt-action in 6.5 Creedmoor, a .22 bolt-action (most likely a CZ), a carry 1911 in 9mm, and potentially an LCP for jogging.

Seriously - after that, I think I will FINALLY be content... Oh, who am I kidding? I've thought of 4 more that I want just now...

I have a list of what I want to adorn my safe. Some of the models have changed over the years but there is some common threads there. For example having an AR was always on my list. 12ga shotgun. .22LR firearms for cheap shooting etc.

The list gets refined based on my taste. I want a full size firearm in the big three calibers 9mm, 40 and 45. One 45 was too big and didn't fit my hand so it was sold and a 45 that did fit my hand was added.

Voted "no".

I have a couple "Holy Grails" currently on my list that I would really like to obtain.

A bunch of "wants" but I could easily live without them.

I subscribe to the plan, "The one who dies with the most guns wins". Unfortunately, Charleton Heston will be tough to beat.:)

I've got all of my "needs" taken care of as far as HD, carry, etc., goes, but I have a constantly varying list of "wants" that I'll be working on as long as I live. For example, I want one example of every .22 High Standard pistol ever built and I've got a loooooong way to go on that one. I also tend to impulse buy when I look at the used guns at my LGS, when I have the money. I've bought, tried out, and resold more guns than I care to think about - how else will I know what I like?

I'm over 60 years old. I was unable to afford new guns until about 10 years ago. After I bought my first S&W revolver, I went crazy over them and now own seven. I expanded my deer hunting opportunities with new rifles, slug guns, and muzzleloaders. I have .22 LR guns and .22 Magnum guns.

Now my life has slowed down some. I no longer deer hunt. I have sold many of my long guns and some handguns. However, I got on a kick with buying certain small-caliber "mouse guns", simply because they are fun and not made any more.

Am I content? Yes, today. Tomorrow, I may find a need for a Remington V3 shotgun or a 1911-style pistol. Maybe a R51, because they are so notorious. Who knows......

I could be...maybe I should be...but I enjoy a variety of firearms and my wish list changes as I acquire different things and my interests evolve. You can be content with what you have and still want more.

Perfectly content and have been for a while. I still tinker on the edges, but the core is solid and there is nothing that I need. Honestly, I could downsize and not lose any utility.

I don't need more stuff; I need more time to use the stuff I have.

No, not really content...

I have more firearms than I really need but not as many as I want.
I can think of 5-6 rifles I want and probaby a dozen or morehandguns.
Might even need a couple more shotguns.
Searching right now for a set of Colt replicas in either .45Colt or .44Special. Don't reallyneed them, just want them. Probably start a search of the LGS in a few weeks,.
I will also most certainly get blind-sided by something else I didn't even know I needed until I see it for sale.
That is what usually happens.

Quite content. I may never buy another rifle. Even a handgun purchase is unlikely. Ammo is my only concern now. I'm buying some .223 today.

Well at least I know I'm not alone, and I completely agree that ammo is a different story. Until I have a lifetime supply, I need more and I can't afford that much.

I guess I'm like Warp. For practical purposes I'm pretty good.
My list of wants is quite lengthy though.

I don't know if I'll ever be really content.

I think I sorta know how an alcoholic feels because the next one will never be enough. I can't buy any more guns until I buy another safe, but the only way I will ever have room for another safe is to buy another house. And that's not on my list, so...

At this point in my life I need to own fewer guns but more satisfying ones. I have my favorites and I have the ones I never shoot. My plan is to eventually turn the guns I don't shoot into money so I can shoot the others more.

No, not content at all. For those of you that are content, please feel free to send me what you don't want.
Thank you.
