Oddly the biggest hole in my collection is a gun I foolishly sold, and now cannot afford to replace, baby on the way, his needs come first.

Not content at all and I have a very large collection. Every time I pick up a new gun I think to myself "this is it, no more after this, wait, why am I lying to myself."

I wanted to finish off my 'must have' list before the election. I wanted a S&W 10mm and an AR308. Mission accomplished. I'll always be looking for an unusual gun at a great price but as far as my bucket list, I think I'm done there.
Now, ammo is another story.....

I told myself that, upon filling the safe, I'd go to a "one in, one out" mode and work on quality over quantity.

At this time there are two crammed in the front of the safe that want to fall out when the door is opened and a .22 trainer discreetly hiding behind my long coat in the closet.

There's nothing I need but they keep calling to me...

RIP, RC

Yes, I think I'm really close. Once I get my P229 Legion out of layaway I think all I'd like is a S&W 4-5" barreled double action .22LR. I've focused on buying 12-20 mags for each of my handguns and rifles, and that sure does eat up one's Gun Fund.

"Mags"? What are these... "mags"... of which you speak?

Just kidding - just an old revolver guy/tubeshooter joshing around with ya...
:neener:

I have a semi-auto or two laying around, I must confess.

There are 2 more I want for sure:
A 1911 and put money down on one last week and a 4in stainless GP100

and a few "maybe's"
Beretta 92
Beretta 9mm carbine
OU shotgun of some sort

I have been starting to accumulate vehicles and already have more than I need----once I get the dream truck--I'll be done with that too.

I'm too old to buy more, and so I'm busy selling, though I will never sell my favorites . One thing that really helps me not want to buy anything is that I absolutely hate rails on pistols, ambidextrous safeties, all plastic guns ( except ARs ), and extended grip safeties on 1911s and Sig 210s. I have to admit, though, every time I see a GI 1911 or 1911A1, or an old Browning Hi-Power, it makes me start lusting. I guess you could say I'm from the old school. Oh, I almost forgot, another thing that makes me cuss and cringe is a safety on a lever action rifle.

Yup at 58, perfectly content. Told my wife. She said yeah RIGHT...LOL. Seriously though main focus now is feeding and shooting, BUT always on lookout for any deals that might come my way

Well, I'm content only in that if I could never buy another firearm, what I already have should see the family and me through the apocalypse, but there's always, always one more gun out there I lust after ... usually starts as soon as I finish shooting the last gun I've bought ...

I would not mind trying either a Martini-Henry or a Trapdoor Springfield. Other than that I am fairly content.

That sounds like me ... Right down to my age and my wife's attitude!

If Obama passed a XO that no more firearms could be bought/sold/traded but you can keep e ones you have, I'd be OK.

This is not to say there aren't a couple Holy Grails left like a Beretta 70 and M-60, both in full-otto ... So it's not likely!

I've already acquired my 2 main Holy Grails, and the ones I "need" and the ones I like I have doubles or in the case of the AR's, HK's & SiG 55X's ... triples ... and I've re-acquired the ones I sold and regretted selling, some of which, after getting one I had then sold, I remembered why I sold it ... and sold it again. HK Mark 23 & Desert Eagle 44 & 50 comes to mind.

Anymore when I walk through a gun show, about everything I see, it's either "have one", "had one and got rid of it" OR "just not interested".

Of course I say that now but it's kind of like when I said it a while back, then I saw the Scorpion EVO ... then the Bren 805.
Nothing like that has struck me lately ...
... well, maybe the Galil ACE, but I'm resisting :banghead:

For the record- I like the guns I have. I like where they came from, who they came from and what they are.I will say this...If they all went away and all I had was a wad of cash...my collection would look different when the cash was gone.

There are guns that could not be replaced so i wouldn't even try.

What I have now pretty much satisfies me.

I have bolt-action rifles in .22LR and Mag., a SA revolver that takes both, and a semi-auto .22LR rifle. I also have a semi-auto pistol in .22 Mag but no semi-auto rifle to go with the pistol. With the mechanical problems that I have heard about that contributed to the demise of the .22 Mag version of the 10/22, I'm not sure they are a dependable choice.
