because it clearly was NOT meant as a joke, as evidenced by the fact that it was preceded by a setup denigrating lawyers (without exception), and the fact that you have now edit to delete said setup proves that you know that it was not a joke and have a guilty mind and want to cover it up.

What the heck are you talking about Futo? I didn't delete anything I only added the *disclaimer to my original post because I was tired of your whining to me about it.

Methinks your skin is too thin and/or your sense of humor is lacking. Maybe you are just too used to dealing with people with guilty minds who have a need to cover things up. Or perhaps you just think it's all about you.

I wish you nothing but continued success in your practice of law.

Now perhaps we can all get back to the original thread.

Hey guys,

From THR's Code of Conduct:
4.) Spamming, trolling, flaming, and personal attacks are prohibited. You can disagree with other members, even vehemently, but it must be done in a well-mannered form. Attack the argument, not the arguer.
You guys want to squabble about which one has the better sense of humor, take it to PM. The rest of us don't want to hear it.

I'll leave this thread open if there are no further personal attacks or attempts to derail it. It'll be closed posthaste if there are.

The lawyer obviously went to the Michael Moore School of Statistical Scatology. On the other hand, there is a minute grain of truth buried in what he says. Consider this, from the pages of the most recent issue of American Handgunner:

52 - Number of American solders killed in Iraq at press-time since the war "ended"

66 - Number of citizens murdered on the streets of Washington, D.C. in the same time period.

Maybe we should invade D.C.:scrutiny:

Guns were quite accessible in my parents' home when I was a boy. Dad had two shotguns and ammo within easy reach in the closet. I never had the urge to pull one of the guns out and go shoot a kid who made fun of me or a teacher who flunked me. Somehow, without directly telling me, my parents taught me that such behavior was morally wrong.

By blaming objects rather than personal behavior and parenting, we are doing all people in this country a disservice.
