Uberti '58 New Army (all blued).....and a '51 Navy. Wish list; '61 Navy, Ruger Old Army in stainless, and lbnl....a bp shotgun (double barrel, if there is one).

I play drums, and love to "fabricate" any and everything I can think of. But one of my biggest passions is something called "DLG", or, "discuss launch gliders".......it's building $500- 60" RC gliders made of carbon-fiber and Kevlar, with a peg or blade in the wing tip that you hold while spinning 360° and throwing to about 200 feet (then use radio fly and look thermals to stay aloft). It may sound weird, but be warned, if you ever see it done-then do it....you'll be hooked....it's worse than crack! YouTube it.

As for food I, like many here, also love a good marbled (home grilled) ribeye, but mainly enjoy killing all the Alaskan crab legs we can hold with my 12yr old baby girl, Kaci.

Still new here, but seems to be a great bunch of folks.

tark, may I please be blessed with a pic of your golf ball cannon? "

I'm still learning how to post pics, Cannonman. My son taught me last year, and left me with detailed instructions, which I can't seem to figure out. Every time I try it I screw it up. Im old and crabby, and I hate computers and cell phones and most all of the new electric gizmos. My son had to grab me by the throat and drag me, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century. I have figured out my smart phone, but not my computer.

I don't shoot the golf ball cannon anymore because it is so damned hard to find any black powder, not to mention the 4F that it takes. A golf ball is very light for its mass and I discovered a long time ago that 3F or coarser just gave me a pop and the ball just dribbled out of the muzzle. I would use a tablespoon of powder, maybe 50- 60 grains and I have gotten several shots of 400 yards on the fly. Ignition was cannon fuze.

I made the thing from seamless steel tubing, for lack of a better term. The bore was opened up with a boring bar to golf ball size, which left a 1/8 " step near the breech. I then machined a plug, which served as a breech block, that butted up against the step. Then I locktited it in place . The walls of the tubing are a full 1" thick and the barrel is seven inches long.

I would love to shoot it if I could just find the blasted powder!
