Are your hunts interesting enough for a TV Show?

Probably.
I don't watch a whole lot of tv, hunting shows included. It's a hell of a lot more exciting to go out and do it yourself.

My dove hunting trip the other morning. More exciting than a rollercoaster. Doves divebombing you(unintentionally i assume because soon as they realize your their they veer off the other way) So many of them you don't have enough time to reload before you have another group coming at you. Every one filling their limits if they can shoot halfway decent, and so many shots going off that is sounds like popcorn popping. Getting peppered with bird shot every now and then, not really hurting but just enough to keep you on edge. Now that would have made an exciting hunting show.

Most of the time, it just depends on which part you watch, the production value that could be put into it, musical score in the back ground.

I went dove hunting in the rain on Saturday for the first time in 25 years of dove hunting. I was surprised to see that some birds were actually flying. It has been a slow start this year in my neck of the woods not a lot of birds, but a good amount of rain. We noticed that shooting had been no worse than any of the other handful of dry days that we had been this season so far. It had to have been quite a show for anybody that could have seen us. Between the four of us including my kid we got 8 birds in a couple of hours, but we did get 50 lbs of mud in the truck. Good ole North Texas gumbo mud!! It still beat sitting on the couch.

Most of the birds seem to have been on the southern part of the north zone (north of I10) this year. We didn't have bad action north of Waco, but last couple of years have been a lot better. We had some good action in the afternoon after 6pm this year, but the mornings were dead.

Well, Larry, I like Tom Knap's wing shooting show on outdoor channel. Saw him do a dove show in Argentina. Even HE was missing a lot of birds. Made me feel good. LOL I'd have thought Tom Knap couldn't miss!

They must have all come over to AZ

They must have. ;) Its typical though every year before seasons starts there are tons of birds. It always looks like it will be stellar year and then BAM 4 days before opener we get 2 days of rain.

I've seen him miss in an exhibition shoot.

He tossed 10 clays in the air, and he only hit 8 of them the first try. It was pretty windy, though.:D

With a little background music I think my hunts could qualify for an academy award....like the time I'm whizzing in the woods and three huge bucks nearly run me over....or the crotch of my pants ripped out while coming down from a stand....maybe the time a skunk wandered up and sniffed my new boots....

That happened to me once, but I wasn't whizzing, though I was relieving myself. I shot a buck with my pants around my ankles. He was behind me staring at my white butt, believe it or not. I think he was amorous, but I stopped his train of thought. :D

Taking a whiz is always an invitation for the ducks to fly in.

Some of mine would make good prime time fare, some would be good on comedy central.

I remember one memorable duck hunt. There were 4 of us hip deep in a slough, at daybreak or so, about a 100 Woodies dropped in on us. It's suprizingly hard to hit one of the buggers when they're flying by 100 mph at the end of your barrel. I think we only managed 5 or 6.

What we needed was a big landing net.

Good thing - you were in a vulnerable position for his love advances! Just curious - do you have "doe eyes"? :)
