the real problem is that probably 20 million veiwers saw what msnbc told them. if they are ignorant enough to believe them (as most non gun owners would be, after all, this is part of nbc we are talking about) refuting what they did will not make much difference at all. do you think msnbc will come out with another hour long show saying they were wrong, that guns are good?! the media is our biggest enemy! and how we firearm enthusiasts would go about changing their mind, other than if we were invaded by a foriegn country, and the grass root gun owners kicked their butts, is beyond me. they have billions of dollars, great lawyers, and can pretty much say anything they want (first ammendment), true or not. after all, who is going to sue them. who could AFFORD to sue them. even the NRA could not match their litigation. not because of truth, because the media would tie it up in court for so long the NRA would go bankrupt. personally, i think that some of the cable channels are trying to fight back. with all of the hunting and shooting shows that are on now. i think the mainstream media has struck a nerve with all of their hogwash, and some smaller cable enterprises are picking up on it. i also thingk that at least some of the non-firearm owners, are waking up to it also. discovery channels top shot, sons of guns, kidnap/rescue, will all be very popular shows. not to mention all the hunting shows on cable tv. all of that can not be just for us "gun nuts". there has to be quite a few non firearm enthusiasts watching these as well. there will always be a protion of the population that will think that all firearms are evil. that is fine, they can believe whatever they want. just do not try to FORCE your beliefs onto me! and i will do likewise.
