A coworker and I were having a discussion with another person today about the Beretta M9. Where we got into the argument was when he said that the 9mm is bad because it lacks the velocity to expand a hollow point (HP). I corrected him and explained that this was an incorrect statement and told him that 9mm, in the realm of pistol cartridges, was actually one the faster ones. Also that the lack of expansion in HP's had more to do with short-barreled compact pistols and bullet design, than it had to do with caliber.

If I am wrong- than flame on.

If I am right- give me some stuff that I can back up my argument with.

I love guys like this.:)
Ask him if he's willing to back up that statement with $100.

I know it's true. I fired a 9mm Golden Saber into a grapefruit floating in water in a 5 gal bucket. I got a huge star shaped mushroom.

I am safe from renegade grapefruits.

Seriously. All the premium 9mm SD ammo has plenty of documented evidence for reliable expansion at defense ranges.
