The list itself has since been removed, but is still "available" through the editor.

As this publication pointed out in an editorial a couple of weeks back, knowing who is licensed is the only way to determine who is not licensed. Your crazy uncle shows up at a family reunion packing heat — is he really licensed? A neighbor has taken to walking the sidewalks with a sidearm — is he licensed?

How are you going to know, if it's concealed?

Here is a link from Arkansas Times discussing how the list was originally linked directly on the Arkansas Business site.

:fire:

you could always, umm, ask that crazy uncle or neighbor. If you felt it was your business anyway.

I got a copy of the list after he pulled it (asked for it), and he thanked me for not calling him names.

I let him have it on arkansascarry.com, however.

That'll just make it more sporting.

The best -- and only effective -- defense against an armed killer is another armed man. And since the police can't be everywhere at all times, that means an armed citizen.

I have crazy uncles, but not so crazy I wouldn't trust them with a firearm. And a couple of them could probably outshoot me.

I emailed Arkansas Business about my displeasure and pending boycott. We'll see how much good it does.

I love the way they always use the phrase 'packing heat'.
Ridicule and demonization in one fell swoop.

I let him have it on arkansascarry.com, however.

I tried finding that forum on tapatalk and it won't open.

That whole situation surprised me and really pissed me off. I carry everyday and don't want anyone knowing. If I did, I would open carry.

Pure lunacy.

Did that have address information in the list?

That's frigging dangerous, if it did. "Here be all the homeowners who have guns"

This is old news.
This story and article are 2 years old.

No biggie. Just wanted to point it out.

theHomelessJedi, welcome to THR. And it pissed everyone off in Arkansas when it happened. We all applauded Lt Governor Darr for signing the bill. The governor, Mike Beebe was conveniently out of town. The bill would have passed anyway without his signature, but Lt Gov Darr thought it deserved one.

Publishing such list in my country might very well lead to jail time for the publisher. We take protection of personal information seriously.

here's another great idea, why not just list how everyone voted too? I mean, why is that such a secrete? How about listing what books people check out at the library? Or, better yet, let's make everyone's medical records public!!!

I mean, what's the harm, right Gwen? Riiiiiight. :banghead:

John Brummet* tried that a while back. Somebody got his home phone number and posted it on the Internet. I have to say with pride that I was courteous -- I knew he would be getting calls all day long, so I waited until 2 AM to call him.:p

* If you want to see what he looks like, get a copy of my Illustrated Dictionary. He's in the B section, under "Bunghole, flaming.":D
